After breakfast visit Anuradhapura ancient city. The city’s greatest treasures are its dagabos constructed of bricks and hemispherical in shape. The most notable of these dagobas are Ruwanweliseya, Jethawanaramaya and Thuparama Dagobas. The city’s most renowed relic is the scared Bo tree, which is said to have grown from a brand of the tree under which the Buddha gained enlightenment. It was planted 2250 years ago and is the oldest historically authenticated tree in the world.

After breakfast leave for Polonnaruwa. Polonnaruwa is another world heritage site was the capital of Sri Lanka. Contains some splendid and spectacular statues. The city in its day was fortified with three concentric walls, beautified with parks and gardens and sanctified by many surines. Polonnaruwa shows the interesting blend of the influence of the south indian hindu culture on the Sinhala Buddhist art and architecture in the scattered shrines and monuments still renovated daily by devotees.

Dinner and overnight stay in Sigiriya.

After early breakfast visit Minneriya national park to do a safari at Minneriya national park by jeep. This national park is famous for its large population of elephants and seen in the catchment area of the lake. There are also macaques, sambar deer, wild buffaloes, land monitors and even some elusive leopard and sloth bears to be observed.

Next visit to Dambulla cave temple. The beautifully painted cave temple of Dambulla were designated a UNESCO world heritage site in 1991. The walls and ceilings of the caves are adorned with paintings depicting religious and secular themes.

After breakfast at hotel visit the temple of tooth sacred tooth relic located at the heart of the Kandy town, right before the green waters of the Nuwara wewa, the temple’s white washed walls with tops shaped like that of clouds surround the temple ground.

Leave for Nuwaraeliya en route visit Ramboda water falls, tea factory and tea plantations at Labukelle where you taste the tea and experience of processing tea at the factory.

Lunch at the hotel and refresh yourself.

Dinner and overnight stay in Nuwara eliya.

After breakfast leave for Kithulgala. Kithulgala serves as a base for a rouge of adventure activities, such as whitewater rafting. Most hotel in the area can also arrange rock climbing, cycling, abseiling and overnight river trips. A boat trip across the river leads to the Kithulgala forest preserve, which offers good bird watching and trekking in lowland rainforest.
